What is a Pitch in Freelance Writing?

When you begin to explore health writing, you may quickly feel as if everyone is speaking a foreign language.

In this respect, freelance writing is not much different from healthcare. As nurses, we may be fluent in ABGs, CABGs, JP drains, and Code Browns, while freelance writers are fluent in TKs, deks, AP style, and pitches.

That lingo can trip up novice writers and make them feel like outsiders. We don’t want that. We want to help you feel confident from the very first moment you decide to hang your shingle as a nurse writer. So, today we’re going to demystify one specific piece of freelance jargon: the pitch.

Host Elizabeth Hanes BSN RN built a six-figure writing business in her spare time. Today, she coaches other nurses how to become freelance writers through the RN2writer project.
